Our ideal Trip Leaders
Join a team of passionate advocates who have an immediate connection to our mission and vision. We need storytellers that can elevate the voice of community members in developing countries. We need community organizers, who will rally groups together to fight for our cause, make positive connections, and build relationships with ease. We need problem solvers that can turn challenges into growth opportunities. And if you genuinely want to make the world a better place and you are a service oriented people’s person, we need you.
About the role
As a MEDLIFE Trip Leader you will work as an independent contractor during our Service Learning Trip, a 9 days long educational journey to Guatemala, where volunteers work hand in hand with the local community on mobile medical clinics and development projects . Your responsibilities will include managing groups of volunteers, on the ground operation of the trip, logistics of the mobile clinics and projects, acting as an interpreter between the medical professional or the community members and the volunteers, ensuring the wellbeing and safety of the group, providing an educational experience. As well as keeping the volunteers informed and leading educational activities like round tables. The Trip Leader will also assist and accompany volunteers during optional activities and meals. Deal directly with the volunteers' issues and concerns. Your support system will include your assigned Operation coordinator and the head of the Trip Leaders Team.
Trip Leaders attain full status of TL after a training and shadowing period starting as Assistant Trip Leader and also acting as Project Leaders.
While you might not fill all of the roles listed below you can expect a combination of them on your schedule.
